Apple fixes a security flaw on its 9-year-old iPhone 5S!

We are the first to criticize Apple: overpriced devices, closed system, not very innovative on many points and a horde of brainwashed fanboys… However, there is one thing on which the American company does not makes concessions, is security. While on the Android side, it’s rare to find brands tracking devices over 3 years old (except Samsung and Google with 5 and 6 years respectively), Apple gets the job done. Well, it’s easier when you have only a few models to manage and you control the OS from A to Z, but the effort is to be appreciated. Because recently, the Apple company released a iOS 12.5.7 update for devices that were unable to update to iOS 13 or iPadOS 13.

Grandfather resists

This applies to iPhone 5s, 6, 6 Plus, iPad Air, mini 2, mini 3 and 6th generation iPod Touch. Recall that the iPhone 5s was released in the year of grace 2013. The latter therefore receives a security patch 9 years after its marketing.

We really don’t have any details about this flaw. We only know that it can be activated while surfing the web. The owners of these devices having activated the automatic update have nothing to do while the others are warmly invited to do it manually. This isn’t the only update since the beginning of the year since Apple also offered iOS 15.7.3, iPadOS 15.7.3, macOS Big Sur 11.7.3 and macOS Monterey 12.6.3.
