GoldenEye 007 is available today. Since the game is not sold separately, you may be wondering what are the ways to play it. If you want to discover or rediscover this classic from the Rare studio, you have two options. The first is to play on Xbox or mobile by subscribing to Xbox Game Pass or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The second is owning the Rare Replay game, the collection of rare classics. In the latter case, however, one condition must be met.
Only the digital version is compatible
Released in 2015, Rare Replay is playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The title is available in dematerialized as well as physical version. When GoldenEye 007 was announced, we learned that Rare Replay owners could download the game for free when it was released.

Due to differences between the physical and digital licenses, we were only able to add GoldenEye 007 for owners of a Rare Replay digital copy. By purchasing the game digitally or subscribing to Xbox Game Pass you will get access to the game! Our apologies for any disappointment this may cause.
Owning the Rare Replay collection in physical format therefore does not entitle you to receive GoldenEye 007 for free. The latter is not sold separately on the Microsoft Store, so you will need to purchase the dematerialized version of the Rare Replay or subscribe to the Xbox Game Pass to be able to enjoy it.
