The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) does not regain its attractiveness. According to sources ofign, the convention of the giants of electronics and video games to be held from 13 to 16 June 2022 will be without Xbox, Nintendo and Sony. E3 really needs to reinvent itself
Canceled in 2020 and 2022 for health reasons and transition to digital format in 2021, this new 2023 edition has not convinced the major gamers. However, its creator, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), announced last year that it would rethink the formula.
In 1995, ESA organized the first E3 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. This first edition welcomes 50,000 people. Attendance steadily grew to 70,000 visitors in 2005. A double-edged success as organizing the event has become increasingly expensive for video game publishers who want to deliver the best conference in the show.

For the first time in 2019, the Japanese company has decided that it will not organize a conference and that it will not have a dedicated seat in the living room. The console maker then held its own online events under the name State of Play. For its part, Nintendo has held its conference online since 2012.
Until the last E3 in Physics, the Switch creator had maintained a physical presence in the E3 aisles, which is not expected to happen this year. As for Xbox, Microsoft has decided to organize a conference this summer without specifying whether it will be simultaneously with the show.

However, according to industry magazine sources, the company is not expected to be among the exhibitors of the 2023 edition.
