Halfway between remaster and remake, Like a Dragon Ishin has one main goal: to appeal to Western audiences, those who haven’t had the chance to discover the original game released in 2014 on PS3 and PS4. Almost 10 years have passed and the Yakuza franchise has become popular in the United States and Europe, which prompted SEGA to offer us this restored version. To put the odds on its side, the Japanese publisher has decided to call on Western personalities to put its game in the limelight. Suddenly we learn that former wrestler and AEW World Champion Kenny Omega will make an appearance in the game, not as NPCs, but as soldier cards. This is a combat feature that provides powerful temporary bonuses that can be activated during a fight. So is English actor Rahul Kohli (iZombie, Midnight Sermons, The Haunting of Bly Manor) who will also appear as soldier cards. Inevitably the ad is less powerful than a full model, but enough of that.
