It had been a while since we had heard of Street Fighter 6, since the beginning of December and from the trailer that revealed the first images of Dee Jay, Manon, JP and Marisa. This time Capcom informs us of the arrival of a new commentator for the game, or rather commentator, since it is Thea Trinidad, who WWE fans know well, as she officiates under the name Zelina Vega. The Japanese editor’s statement tells us that Thea is a longtime Street Fighter fan and that her talent and personality will allow her to style the commentary. “I’ve been an avid gamer since I was a kid and a huge fan of Street Fighter”said Thea Trinidad, before adding: “I still remember epic matches with my brother! I always beat him with Vega, my favorite character! It’s unexpected for me to be a part of this incredible saga now and I’m honored and grateful for this unique opportunity.”

To show us that this is indeed the case, Capcom has also shared a new gameplay video, with comments from Thea Trinidad, who seems to be involved. We remind you that this live commentary feature can be deactivated at any time in the Street Fighter 6 options. If not, we remind you that already announced commentators include Jeremy “Vicious” Lopez, Ryutaro “Aru” Noda, Kosuke Hiraiwa and Steve “TastySteve” Scott for the technical aspect, while the environmental commentators are Thea Trinidad, HE Demon Kakka and James “jchensor” Chen. Since each country is not entitled to its own local commentators, Capcom has decided to implement subtitles in thirteen different languages.

The release of Street Fighter 6 is set for June 2, 2023 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
